Discover the art of listening to jazz in a whole new way. In this three-part live workshop series (60–75 minutes each), you’ll learn how to hear beyond the notes — exploring the history, genres, and styles that make jazz such a powerful and personal music.
Through guided listening, interactive exercises, and stories of the great players, you’ll build the tools to recognize key characteristics of swing, bebop, cool jazz, modal, fusion, and more. You’ll also explore what makes the music of artists like Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Pat Metheny so unique.
After the live sessions, you’ll get 10 follow-up lessons to deepen your understanding, with focused breakdowns of genres, styles, and essential recordings. By the end of the camp, you’ll not only know more about jazz history — you’ll hear jazz differently, with sharper ears and deeper appreciation.
